Pre –Natal DNA Testing Services by OQPS

Are you pregnant and want to confirm paternity before the child is born?

A “Prenatal DNA Paternity Test” enables you to determine the paternity of a child before the child is born. A prenatal paternity test is a conclusive way to determine if a man is the father of an unborn child or not. It is an option for those who do not wish to wait until the baby is born to determine paternity. A prenatal DNA paternity testing is as accurate as a regular DNA Paternity Test .

Prior to a child’s birth, OQPS can perform a prenatal DNA paternity test from DNA samples taken by an Obstetrician in one of two ways depending on the stage of pregnancy. The DNA sample of the developing child is collected using either Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) or Amniocentesis.

The CVS procedure can be used for early detection 10-12 weeks into pregnancy. Amniocentesis can be performed between 12 and 21 weeks. Both of these procedures carry a very slight risk, and the implications of this test must be discussed with your Obstetrician.
